Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes are three popular destinations in Greece. I have personally visited all three islands. Each island has its own unique charm and attractions. Here are some of the highlights of visiting each of these islands:
Santorini is famous for its stunning views of the Aegean Sea, as well as its unique architecture, which includes whitewashed buildings with blue roofs. The caldera is a large volcanic crater that provides a breathtaking backdrop for the island's sunsets. One of the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen. They also have some unique beaches including the red and black beach. You can see from one side of the island to the other and the views are simply stunning.
Mykonos is known for its party scene and vibrant nightlife, whitewashed buildings and some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, including Paradise Beach and Super Paradise Beach. The architecture of Mykonos is known for its traditional Cycladic architecture, with whitewashed buildings and blue accents. Mykonos also has little Venice and windmills.
Rhodes surprised me since nobody hears about it that often compared to Mykonos and Santorini but it was gorgeous. Rhodes has a rich history, with many ancient ruins and medieval architecture still standing today, including the Palace of the Grand Master and the Acropolis of Rhodes. Rhodes has many beautiful beaches, including Tsambika Beach and Lindos Beach. Rhodes' Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe.
I have also visited Athens, Olympia, Crete and Corfu and I am going to back to Greece and adding Croatia in 2024!
