The Love of Travel Chronicles!

My Top 5: Cruising, Orlando FL, Caribbean, Nassau Bahamas, St Maarten

The first time I visited the Caribbean was to beautiful St Maarten wow, what an introduction! I needed a passport, which made it feel all the more real. I stayed at a resort on the Dutch side near Maho Beach, where we watched planes take off just overhead. It was my first trip out of the country, and I found myself on one island split between two nations—Dutch and French. The people were lovely (most spoke at least three languages!), the beaches were stunning, the water a sparkling turquoise, and the food? Absolutely incredible. I even went parasailing at Orient Beach. Don’t miss Lee's Roadside Grill—a local gem! Last visit: April 25

My first cruise was on Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas—a 4-day dream come true. I felt like I was on The Love Boat! The food was amazing, the service top-notch. I loved dressing up for dinner in the main dining room and catching a show afterward. We visited Nassau, Bahamas for the first time, and I fell in love. I’ve been hooked on cruising ever since. Last visit: April 24

My all-time favorite U.S. destination is Orlando Florida. Whether it’s Universal or Disney, I know I’m in for unforgettable fun. If I can’t do anything else, I can always count on Orlando to make memories. I’ve visited every major park, including Busch Gardens Tampa—because yes, I’m a theme park junkie! I can’t visit Disney Springs without dinner at Raglan Irish Pub. The fish and chips are perfection, the bread pudding is to die for, and they even have vegan options. My love for theme parks started at home in Williamsburg VA, growing up with Busch Gardens in my backyard. Spring breaks and summers were filled with thrill rides and coaster screams. Last visit: April 25

I’ve visited many Caribbean Islands and lived in Pensacola, FL for three years. I’ve also spent time in New Orleans, which always offers a rich cultural experience. But one of my most unforgettable holiday adventures was New Years' 2022 in Union Square, San Francisco. It was my first big city experience, and I instantly fell in love with the energy, the culture, and the cuisine. California is a whole vibe!!! Last visit: January 2022
