I was fortunate to have lived in Central Europe for the bulk of my teenage years, and caught the travel bug early. By the time I was 18, I had been all across Europe, and to far flung places like Samarkand in Uzbekistan, and Tunisia in North Africa. Experiences like that are impossible to shake, and I've been an avid traveler ever since.
Throughout my time in the military, and then during a successful career in the software industry, I could never silence the voice in the back of my head telling me I needed to focus my energy on travel.
